The M41 mermite container was also used as a blood bank during WW2. This 1943 dated example is nicely maker marked g. p. f & Co.. It does not have inserts, as were used for food, but it is complete with functional; lid can be secured down. The inside tank in lined in what appears to be zinc. These would have been filled with ice then containers of blood packed
