This is the only example we’ve ever seen of this very rare Flintlock Rifle Bayonet

were first made in the spring of 1889 to the XV and XVI Armeekorps stationed in Elsass-Lothringen

These consist of a mix of 4 ball and 1 tracer

It was formally activated on 22 August of that year in Boston

and is fitted with the original trapped swivel ramrod which allowed reloading while on horse back and eliminated the possibility of the mounted trooper dropping his ram rod
