Carex haydenii Sabatia 'Tyokkwina') From the late FredI cannot begin to tell you how impressed we are with Carex haydenii a native sedge from Canada south to Missouri. This amazing sedge forms a 3' tall x 5' wide elegant clump that rivals any mid sized ornamental grass we've grown for form and sheer elegance. The flower spikes, which aren't particularly memorable, top the clump for us in late spring. A rich well irrigated to moist soil is best, and short term flooding isn't a problem. As is the case with
